Academic Programs Committee

Pursuant to § 9 (1) item d) of the WU By-Laws, the Academic Programs Committee is responsible for:

► Adopting and changing the curricula of degree programs
► Teaching evaluation
► Quality management in teaching

The decisions of the committee require the approval of the Senate.

Requests for amendments of the curricula of regular degree programs are dealt with – depending on their scope – over the course of two to three commission meetings.

  • 1st meeting: (in case of extensive changes) ⇒ presentation, explanation, and justification of the changes

  • 2nd meeting: 1st reading ⇒ decision to submit the changes for review

  • 3rd session: 2nd reading ⇒ adoption of the amendments (to be approved by the Senate in its next meeting

Requests for changes to Executive Academy curricula are dealt with over the course of one or two commission meetings.

  • 1st meeting: (in case of extensive changes) ⇒ presentation, explanation, and justification of the changes

  • 2nd meeting: ⇒ adoption of the amendments (to be approved by the Senate in its next meeting)

If published in the WU Bulletin before July 1, curricula of regular degree programs and curriculum amendments become effective as of October 1 of the same year; if published after June 30, they become effective as of October 1 of the following year.

The Senate Office supports the committee in all of its responsibilities, activities and meetings, it assists the committee chair, and its acts as a liaison between the committee and the Senate or the Senate chair.

The members of the Academic Programs Committee have been appointed for the term of office from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2025.

Members

Academic Programs Committee meetings follow a fixed meeting schedule and are held three times per semester. If necessary, a special meeting can be convened at any time.
