Semester Re-registration

Winter semester 2025/2026 deadlineJuly 09th, 2025 - October 31st, 2025

Paying the Students’ Union (ÖH) fee and, if applicable, the tuition fee within the given deadline is referred to as re-registration.

Re-registration is required for every semester of the enrolled study program.

What happens if I do not re-register?

If you do not pay the required fee:

  • Your study program will be closed.

  • You will lose your student status.

  • You will not be able to register to exams, request credit transfers or submit a thesis for review.

How do I pay the re-registration fee?

  • You can pay by card at the self-service terminals in front of the Study Service Center (LC, 2nd floor). Bring your student ID card with you. If you are a student at the Vienna University Preparation Program (VWU), please visit the Study Service Center to re-register.

  • You can pay by credit card or EPS bank transfer through our online services for students.

  • Payment by online bank transfer – bank account details such as name, account number, Bank Identifier Code are listed on the online services for students. Please note that the transfer may take several weekdays. Once the transfer is completed, you can print out enrollment confirmations and validate your student ID card for the next semester.

I am student both at WU and another university. Do I still need to pay the re-registration fee?

If you have already paid the tuition fee / Students’ Union (ÖH) fee at another university, please notify WU of the payment at the self-service terminals or via the online services for students. This will serve as re-registration at WU.

Please always pay at the university charging the highest re-registration fee.
