The Election of the Senate 2025 for the term of office from 01.10.2025 to 30.09.2028 will take place on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.

You can cast your vote on this day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Building AD, Ground floor, Meeting room 2.

Alongside the University Board and the Rector’s Council, the WU Senate is one of the three bodies that make up WU’s top-level university management. This makes the Senate a key player for ensuring the principle of checks and balances when making decisions with a long-term impact at our university.

Even if you are not directly affected by the Senate’s activities in your area of work: Bear in mind that the Senate not only has important rights of participation in planning WU’s organizational and strategic development, but it is also the only university governance body with direct democratic legitimacy under the Universities Act 2002.

The Cair of the Senate encourages all WU employees to make use of their right to vote, and calls upon all supervisors to make it possible for their team members to participate in the election.
The delegates to be elected will represent WU’s employees in the Senate and play an active role in steering the further development of WU Vienna going forward.
