Katia Ruiz Toledo

Katia is originally from Peru, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics and law. Her interest in corporate taxation led her to work as a transfer pricing consultant at Ernst & Young and Deloitte in Peru and Chile. Combining her understanding of real-world business operations and her research interests on international corporate taxation and development, she continued her path in academic research. She holds a master's degree in international and development economics from UNamur and UCLouvain in Belgium. She worked, first as an intern and then as a consultant, at the Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on state capacity projects on fiscal management, among others, in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). She has participated in tax projects in several industries, working on defining transfer pricing policies, planning, and documentation in LAC. Her research focuses on international corporate taxation, development, and BEPS-related issues in the Global South. Katia is also passionate about musical theatre and traveling.
