Join us for a Special Edition of "WU Research Encounters" on Organizational Purpose

We are pleased to invite you to a Special Edition of WU Research Encounters, focusing on Organizational Purpose. Organizational purpose refers to an organization's core mission or reason for existing, which goes beyond merely achieving financial performance. It encompasses the values, goals, and impact that the organization aims to have on society, its employees, and other stakeholders. However, whilst an important phenomenon, high ambiguity around the conceptual framing, theoretical development, and managerial implications of organizational purpose for corporate performance and societal outcomes persists.

We invite a broad range of topics such as theoretical foundations of purpose, the processes and implications of alignment and misalignment of purpose, purpose in management practice, purpose and organizational behavior, the implications of purpose for policy, governance and strategy, organizational purpose and societal outcomes.

This edition of WU Research Encounters is connected to the ENGAGE EU Purpose Think Tank, where researchers from across the ENGAGE EU network will join us for this special event. Our goal is to bring together researchers from across WU’s departments and participants from across the ENGAGE EU network to foster discussion, and the exchange of ideas and expertise. Whether your work examines theoretical frameworks, empirical insights, or practical applications, we would love to hear from you and connect you with colleagues, both within WU and across the ENGAGE EU network.

The program includes a series of 8-minute flash talks. These talks will cover various aspects of organizational purpose and showcase the breadth of scholarship across different research fields at WU and the ENGAGE EU Purpose Think Tank. The goal is to share insights, stimulate new research, and identify potential synergies and opportunities for collaboration.

Following the flash talks, we invite you to join us for finger food and refreshments. This will be a valuable opportunity to network and exchange ideas among like-minded scholars.
