Being the very firts institute for business education in Austria, the Institute for Business Education at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna has a long tradition of research and teaching. The founder of Austrian Business Education, Hans Krasensky, was the first professor of Business Education in the 1950s and 1960s. He was followed by Willfried Schneider (1971-2004) and Josef Aff (2005-2016). Since 2016, Bettina Fuhrmann is head of the institute and continues the work of her predecessors to enhance business education, the training of business teachers and foster economic literacy.

The Institute for Business Education is a division of the Department of Management, as are all other business administration-related, behavioral sciences-oriented institutes and groups at WU.
