All employees who have been employed by WU since January 1^st, 2003, or who have been employed as freelance employees according to § 4 para. 4 ASVG (e.g. external lecturers), are covered by the employee severance fund. WU pays 1.53% each month of the gross salary as a severance payment contribution to the APK Vorsorgekasse. These contributions are invested on the capital market by APK and are either carried over to the next employment relationship or - depending on the type of termination and provided that at least three years of payments have been made - can be paid out at the end of the employment relationship with WU. The entire accumulated capital is paid out at the latest upon retirement. The APK contacts entitled persons directly by post. For this purpose, it is important that former WU employees who move abroad inform the APK of the new address themselves. For relocations within Austria, it is not necessary to contact the APK, as the APK is informed about Austrian addresses. APK is prepared to communicate in English. Just let them know via Email that you prefer to be contacted in English.

On this occasion, DI Keplinger will present the APK Vorsorgekasse and the employee severance pay scheme and and will be available for questions.
