Social Skills

Purpose

The central objective of the Social Skills program is to enable students to develop their personality and social skills in addition to their academic education. The Social Skills program focuses on promoting those interdisciplinary skills that facilitate successful interaction with other people in a wide variety of (sometimes difficult) social situations. These include, in particular, the ability to communicate with others, conduct conflict and negotiation discussions, moderate meetings and work in teams. Foundation of the advancement of social skills is the ability to reflect on oneself and one's own behavior, so that not only social skills but also skills that are usually assigned to self-competencies are promoted.

Therefore, the Social Skills program aims to provide an academic education in the area of personal development that specifically complements specialist training by promoting personal and, in particular, social skills.

The prerequisite is, on the one hand, participation in specified workshops in the WU social skills program and/or participation in one of the following WU Vienna support programs:

On the other hand, an average grade of better than 2 is required.

The aim is to enable the further development of personality and social skills in addition to a sound academic education. The skills acquired are documented in a social skills certificate. This document can then, e. g. be added to written applications.
