Start of registration for the Firmenstaffellauf 24.06.2025
Last year, the 2nd edition of the Firmenstaffellauf onthe premises of the Krieau trotting track was a great success with 39 WU relay teams taking part. Many of our teams reached podium positions and received prizes. We, the Staff Councils for academic and administrative staff, are therefore once again joining forces with wohlbefinden@wu and the Rectorate to offer our employees the opportunity to take part in this running competition in 2025. Among other things, the two WU Staff Council committees will cover the entry fees for the Firmenstaffellauf.
When? Tuesday, 24.06.2025
Where? Vienna Trotting Club Krieau, Nordportalstraße 247, 1020 Vienna
Distance? 10 x 1000m (10 km in total)
(The trotting track consists of sand and gravel. The Firmenstaffellauf will only take place in dry weather. In the event of heavy rain, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the event at short notice).
TEAMS, RUNNING CLASSES & RANKINGS
Three people form a team that competes in one of three age groups. Affiliation of the respective age group is determined by the combined age of all three runners in the team.
Teams can register as male, female or mixed teams. There is a separate classification for male, female and mixed teams in each age group.
You can register as a team or contact betriebsrat@wu.ac.at if you don’t find a team. If there are enough individual runners, we will invite you to a team building event. Of course, you can also volunteer as a substitute runner. In recent years, ALL substitute runners have been able to take part in the race!
PREPARATION OF THE RUN
Running training: Our occupational physician, Dr. Rathmayr, is once again organizing a joint running training session to prepare for the Firmenstaffellauf.
A joint warm-up before the run is planned.
Standardized running shirts: As in previous years, standardized running shirts will be provided for first-time WU runners. If you do not already have a WU running shirt from previous running events, please indicate your T-shirt size when registering.
THE RUN ITSELF
After every kilometer run, a handover to a team member takes place until 10 kilometers have been completed. The ranking is then based on the total time of the team after a total of 10 kilometers run.
Start: 18:15
Distribution of starting numbers: from 16:00
Award ceremony: from approx. 19:45 onwards
The closing event for all WU teams will take place during the award ceremony.
RANKING
WU will have its own company ranking, broken down into the three categories women, men and mixed, in the three age groups.
