Participant, Bangkok Summer School 2025
The lecturers were very open and approachable, and they encouraged us to share our own ideas and viewpoints. What I also liked was that at the end of the week we had to prepare presentations where we could apply what we had learned, and we received valuable feedback that helped us reflect on the content. Besides the lectures, the program also organized several events that made the experience richer. I especially enjoyed the welcome dinner and the intercultural evening, as well as the excursions that were organized as part of the program. Altogether, the combination of academic learning, practice, and shared activities made the program a memorable experience.

In terms of professional and academic development, the program was incredibly insightful, giving me new perspectives that led me to focus on sustainability studies. I changed my academic plan, taking more courses on sustainable development and operations, and now I’m planning to pursue an internship in this field. I met amazing people, some of whom I’m still friends with, experienced different cultures, and gained an understanding of the Asian student mindset. I’m now determined to return to Asia and explore it further. And this is just a small part of the personal growth I experienced…

My takeaway for sustainability from this program is the high importance of reaching the SDG goals to live in a sustainable world and that we can only get there if everybody is doing their part, from corporate companies to individuals. What I also found quite important is that sustainability is not
just about environmental aspect, but also about social and economical sustainability. I try to incorporate that knowledge into my life by taking a close look if a company is really sustainable or not if they say they are when buying something.

"The Bangkok Summer School or in general any Summer School is a great opportunity to broaden someone’s horizon without having to commit to a full semester abroad. Furthermore, it is the perfect combination between academic and professional development as well as having fun, making meaningful connections, and getting out of the own comfort zone."
