AI in course design and teaching

Prompt-Engineering

The first subchapter explains the basics of so-called "prompt engineering". In this section, you will learn how you can optimize your input, e.g. by assigning a specific role to the chatbot. You can find out why this is useful and how it works, as well as other tips on chatbot input, in the chapter "Creating effective prompts".

Planning courses

In the section "AI in course planning", we have collected specific ideas on how you can use artificial intelligence to plan your course(s). You will find tips on how AI can support you in creating semester and unit plans, formulating course descriptions or planning examination components.

Creation of learning materials and individualization of tasks

If you would like to use AI to create learning materials for your students or to individualise tasks, you will find examples in the section "Application scenarios in teaching". Take a look at how you can use AI to prepare case studies, discussions or role plays, break down complex tasks automatically into sub-steps or create a wide range of examples and analogies.

Responsible use of AI

The last chapter "Supporting students in the use of AI" helps you to guide students towards a responsible use of AI. Here, too, you will find concrete methods that invite students to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of AI-generated content and on various ethical aspects associated with the use of AI.
