We are thrilled to announce the successful compleation of Peter Eigenschink's dissertation defense on "Marketing Analytics for Sustainable & Efficient Retail Operations".

The dissertation "Marketing Analytics for Sustainable & Efficient Retail Operations" focuses on improving pre-season inventory decisions for seasonal fashion products. It introduces a hierarchical Bayesian model that integrates historical data and expert knowledge to enhance predictions for size preferences before the season starts. In an empirical study, this approach shifts 15.6% of inventory from overstocked to understocked sizes, having the potential to significantly improve profitability and reduce waste. By leveraging advanced analytics, the research provides a data-driven solution to one of fashion retail’s biggest challenges—optimizing inventory decisions months before the season starts.
