Our Institute is happy to announce a research presentation by Christina Wong on the “Value of Information Integration to Supply Chain Management: Roles of Internal and External Contingencies”.

The presentation will take place on Tuesday 18^th November, 3pm in the large meeting room (D2.2.094, 2nd floor) of the Department of Information Systems and Operations.

Abstract:

While integrating information flows between internal organizational functions and across partner firms is widely acknowledged as a contributor to organizational competitiveness, there is little empirical research on the impacts of situational factors on the success of information integration. Based on contingency theory, we address the question: Under what circumstances does information integration contribute to better performance outcomes in supply chain management (SCM)? Our results provide a contingency perspective of information integration, which highlights that the performance outcomes of information integration are contingent on both external environmental conditions and internal operational characteristics.

Short bio:

Christina Wong is an Associate Professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research focuses on the management and performance of information and supply chain integration, and environmental management. Her recent works have appeared in Journal of Operations Management, Information & Management, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, International Journal of Production Economics, and others.
