Call for Bachelor Thesis in cooperation with IfU and the University of Bern

20. Dezember 2019

Are you interested in participating in a larger empirical research project that focuses on corporate innovation activities? Do you like to get some hands-on experience with statistical techniques? If so, then this call might be the right place for you to look at.

We are currently inviting applications for bachelor theses that belong to a larger research project between the Institute for Strategy and Managerial Accounting (IfU), the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (IfSTO) and the Institute for Accounting at the University of Bern. The research project is based on a survey data capturing innovation activities of high-tech companies in the German-speaking countries (DACH-region).

The project zooms in on corporate innovation processes, related key success factors and how companies actively manage the uncertainties inherent in innovation activities. Other topics of interest in the project revolve around organizational ambidexterity (i.e., how companies can pursue both exploitative and exploratory innovations at the same time), open innovation and knowledge management conducive to innovation (i.e., absorptive capacity). Additionally, we will also pay special attention to how companies can combine various innovation management techniques to generate superior innovation performance.

If you are interested to write your bachelor thesis in the wake of this project and work with real firm data, please mail your application (including CV, and a few lines describing your motivation) to Dr. Christian Garaus (christian.garaus@wu.ac.at) and Dr. Markus Wabnegg (markus.wabnegg@wu.ac.at). The bachelor thesis/theses are supposed to be completed within the next six months. If you need any additional information, please feel free to contact us. The application deadline is 10 January 2020.
