WU among secures spots in the global top 10%

WU Vienna University of Economics and Business has been able to consolidate its leading international position in the recently published Business Master’s Rankings 2025 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). Despite strong international competition, five WU master’s programs earned spots in the top 10% of their respective categories, in a very competitive environment, with one program even taking second place. These outstanding results show that WU graduates are held in high regard in the international job market, and they highlight WU’s strong reputation.

WU once again confirms its position as a world-class university in this year’s QS rankings for business master's degrees. Five of WU’s English-taught master’s programs achieved excellent results in their respective categories:

  • Master’s in Supply Chain Management: At second place out of a total of 85 programs ranked, WU’s MSc in Supply Chain Management achieves a sensational result, bested only by the US-based Michigan Ross School of Business.

  • Master’s in Marketing: WU’s MSc in Marketing comes in 12th out of 140 programs ranked.

  • Master’s in Management: WU’s MSc in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control ranks 18th out of a total of 206 programs. Coming in at 10th place, the CEMS Master’s in Management also achieves an outstanding position in the ranking. In Austria, this international program is exclusively available at WU Vienna.

  • Master’s in Finance: WU’s Quantitative Finance master’s ranks 20th out of a total of 222 programs

All WU master’s programs ranked achieve excellent results with regard to “Employer Reputation” – based on a survey of around 61,000 employers worldwide – as well as with respect to alumni success rates in the job market. WU’s programs also score far above average in the “Thought Leadership” category, which mainly draws on research output and reputation indicators.

Top international positions as a sign of high quality

The QS rankings are internationally renowned and provide valuable guidance to prospective students worldwide. This year, the number of participating universities has been expanded once again. As WU Rector Rupert Sausgruber points out, “The excellent positions of WU’s master’s programs among such strong competition confirm WU’s high quality standards and show that our graduates are very successful in their professional careers. The results also attest to our university’s strong position in international higher education.”
