Step 1: Requirements

To be admitted to the Master’s Program in Business Law, you must have completed a relevant degree program at a recognized postsecondary educational institution. Prerequisites for the Master’s Program include:

  • The program must comprise at least 180 ECTS credits (corresponding to three academic years).

  • Program graduates must be awarded an academic degree in law.

  • 95 ECTS credits must have been be earned by completing exams in the field of law.

  • Of these 95 ECTS credits, at least 40 ECTS credits must have been earned in the field of Austrian law.

  • 45 ECTS credits must have been earned by completing exams in the field of business administration/economics/mathematics/statistics.

The Bachelor Program in Business Law (BAWIRE) at Vienna University of Economics and Business fulfills the prerequisites.

Please note that you have to complete the online application process even if you hold the WU Bachelor´s Program in Business Law.

Admission to the Master’s Program in Business Law is not possible for holders of all other WU degrees because these degrees do not meet the admission criteria, which require a previous degree in law and the completion of specific exams.

At the latest, you’ll have to present proof of your German skills when you carry out the enrollment for the program.
