Priority deadlines

Three so-called "priority deadlines" have been set for the 2025/26 application and selection proceedings. Submitted applications are batched and processed according to these priority deadlines. This means that the processing of applications submitted after a particular priority deadline will be delayed until after the next deadline. Please note the following:

  • The advantage for potential students is the opportunity to apply early and secure a place in the WU program of their choice.

  • Priority deadline III does not apply for the MSc in International Management/CEMS. Only the first two priority deadlines are available for this program, meaning that the final application deadline is January 8.

ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS (third-country nationals)
We strongly advise third-country nationals to use the 1st priority deadline which ends at the beginning of October. Austrian residence permit procedures are complex and demanding. The process should be started as early as possible. Please note that WU cannot assist students in residence permit procedures.

Online application

Applications are submitted using the online application tool. Students interested in more than one of WU's English-taught programs must apply for all programs of interest at the same time and order their preferences according to first choice, second choice, etc. Please note that individual program applications may require different information and documents, and that only complete applications can be considered for further processing.

Results of the application and selection process

Each priority deadline is followed by a processing and selection phase. Applicants are informed of their status after completion of this phase. Students selected for a program will be sent an admission offer. Since admission to WU's English-taught MSc programs is restricted to one program per applicant, students who have applied for more than one program will be offered a place in the program of their highest preference they are accepted for.

In the master programs Economics, Quantitative Finance, Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy as well as Supply Chain Management pre-selected applicants may receive an admission offer in advance to the regular procedures. Prerequisite is that the program was marked as first preference upon application and that the application seems to be of outstanding quality or special interest for the program.

After reception of the admission offer applicants have 10 days time for acceptance of the offer and payment of the admission deposit.
