Step 1: Requirements
In order to apply for the Master programs at WU you have to fulfill the requirements for application and to prove your aptitude for the program. In case one or more of the required proofs are missing, your application has to be rejected.
If you are interested in more than one program you must apply for all programs at the same time and order your preferences according to first choice, second choice, etc. Please note that individual program applications may require different information and documents.
It is not necessary to have completed your first degree program at the time of application, proof of completion of your program is not required until actual enrollment. Nevertheless the requirements listed below have to be documented within the uploaded documents.
Requirements for application:
1. Relevant Bachelor's program:
Completion of or enrollment in a relevant degree program at a recognized Austrian or foreign post-secondary institution. Prerequisites for the Master’s Program include:
The program must comprise at least 180 ECTS credits (corresponding to three academic years).
60 ECTS credits have to be earned by passing exams in the field of business administration.
2. Language proficiency:
Proof of proficiency in English has to be submitted at the time of application. If you fail to upload proof of English skills in the online tool, your application will be rejected.
A. Proof of proficiency in English - C1 or C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference:
English as first language (Please use the CEMS Mother Tongue Declaration Form for the proof of each of your Mother Tongues.)
A full English-taught Bachelor’s program (at least 3 years) at a CEMS partner university, or in an English-speaking country, or at an EQUIS and/or AACSB accredited university. A confirmation from the university is required to prove that the completed program was taught in English. Please note that only an exchange semester or year in an English speaking country or with courses taught in English is not sufficient.
To be considered official the document has to be stamped and signed by your university.One of the following valid certificates (official or unofficial test report): TOEFL iBT 100 or higher, TOEFL IBT Home Edition 100 or higher, IELTS 7.0 or higher [(Online) Academic Version], Cambridge English: CAE (grade "A" or "B"), CPE (grade "A", "B" or "C") or BEC Higher (grade "A" or "B"), UNIcert III
Oxford Test of English (at least 150 points-C1): This exam is offered p.e. by WU Business Language Center
A certificate from a university language center confirming the applicant has achieved level C1 or C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The certificate has to proof that you took one or more tests to assess your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. These skills should correspond to level C1 or C2 according to the CEFR. Course transcripts or confirmations about your overall language skills (e.g. DAAD-Certificates) or certain language courses will NOT be accepted as proof of your language skills. If you are not sure whether your language certificate fulfils these criteria, please submit one of the standardized tests mentioned above.
B. Proof of skills in the second language (at least B2; for written skills at least B1) according to the Common European Framework of Reference):
The second language as native language (Please use the CEMS Mother Tongue Declaration Form for the proof of each of your Mother Tongues.)
Full Bachelor`s program done in the second language (at least three years, university confirmation required)
Full secondary education done in the second language (confirmation by the school required)
C. Proof of skills in any third language:
Third language as native language (Please use the CEMS Mother Tongue Declaration Form for the proof of each of your Mother Tongues.)
Full Bachelor’s program done in the third language (at least 3 years, university confirmation required)
Full secondary education done in the third language (confirmation by the school required)
CEMS-accredited commercial language proficiency tests (required minimum level according to the CEMS website)
A commercial language course at elementary level (A1, A2 or B1) or higher from a CEMS-accredited cultural institution, minimum contact hours: 20
A language course, elementary level (A1, A2 or B1), taken at WU, another CEMS school, or another EQUIS and/or AACSB-accredited university; minimum ECTS credits: 5
A language course, elementary level (A1, A2 or B1) or higher, as part of your secondary education – minimum length: one year
Please note: Certain combinations of similar languages don't fulfill the requirements (e.g. Danish/Swedish/Norwegian, Czech/Slovak, Catalan/Spanish, or Ukrainian/Belarusian/Russian).
3. Proof of aptitude (selection criteria)
In addition to the admission requirements, you also have to prove your aptitude for the Master’s program.
Proof of achievement potential:
GMAT Exam (10th Edition) score report from a test center/online with a minimum of 600 points. Please upload the official score report as a PDF file to your application. OR
GMAT Exam (Focus Edition) score report with a minimum of 565 points. For verification purposes, please grant WU access to your score report by sending your score to the selected program on your mba.com account. Please consider the time required for GMAC to release your official scores (up to 20 business days).

Motivation Letter
Communication skills, interpersonal skills, international orientation (these skills will be tested during the admission interview)
Please note that any kind of recommendation letters can't be taken into the consideration.
4. List of 15 CEMS partner university preferences for your exchange semester
While filling in your application form you will be required to indicate 15 preferences of the CEMS Partner Universities for your mandatory semester abroad. Please carefully consider the choice of ALL of your preferred exchange universities. It is it not possible to change your preferences after submitting your application. The allocation for the exchange university will be conducted once the admission process for both priority deadlines is completed.
