NEURUS – The Network

NEURUS - Network of European and US Regional and Urban Studies - is a special program that allows participants to go abroad to work on an academic thesis. In the summer semester, European students spend a research stay at one of the NEURUS partner universities in the US. In turn, US students come to work at the network’s European partner universities in winter semester, .  

NEURUS for WU Students

WU students can spend a semester (usually the summer semester) at a partner university in the US as a NEURUS Exchange Fellow. This exchange program is primarily intended for research work. The program combines the opportunity to focus on an academic thesis with a stay abroad as a WU outgoing exchange student. Tuition fees are waived for NEURUS exchange students both at WU and at the host university. The high degree of academic integration offered by the network guarantees that the students receive excellent supervision of their work and good administrative support. Exchange places at NEURUS partner universities are available to qualified WU students in the next summer semester.  

NEURUS partner universities in the US (applications are not university-specific, i.e. students are assigned to an appropriate host university based on their research topic):
