Christian Bruck

Christian Bruck is a Research Associate who studies open strategy, business model innovations, and B2B platforms.

In particular, this involves the adaption of open strategy processes, the valuation aspect of business models, and governance of B2B platforms. He studies these phenomena in capital intensive industries such as in the energy industry and the metal industry.

Christian joined the ISM team as a PhD candidate in Economic and Social Sciences. Prior to that, he graduated from the master program in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control (SIMC) at WU Vienna with a double degree in International Business (MIB) from Queen’s University in Canada.

His academic background involves a bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics and Business Administration from WU Vienna, with an exchange program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. During this time, he also obtained several research and teaching assistant positions at the institute and department. In addition, Christian completed various internships in consulting and capital-intensive industries in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, with a focus on strategic applications of new technologies.

For the ISM, he is also responsible as the Head of Operations for the Strategy Community Initiative (Wiener Strategieforum). This unique community is a platform for strategic management and innovation and brings together senior executives and bright entrepreneurs from German-speaking countries along with thought-leaders from academia around the world at an annual conference.
