Financial reasons should not be an obstacle to studying

At least four of the seven scholarships will be awarded to women. Each scholarship student will receive financial support for a maximum of two years to complete a master’s program at WU. “The main idea for WU is that financial reasons should not prevent students from gaining international experience. Thanks to the support of our corporate partner, we can now help students from abroad complete their degree at WU. I am particularly pleased that several of the scholarships are reserved for female students, which is a commendable step in the advancement of women," said WU Rector Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger.

Frauke Bastians, Diversity and Inclusion Senior Manager at Mondi, says, “Access to education is an important aspect of inclusion. As we see it, a lack of financial resources should not keep young people from studying. Mondi is a globally active company that employs people from almost 100 countries. By 2030, we also want to increase the percentage of women at all levels from 21% today to at least 30%. This means that four out of ten new hires will be women.” In the 2021/22 academic year, six women and one man were able to enroll in a WU master’s program thanks to the Mondi International Scholarships.
