The Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law wants to inform you about the

JESH grant – Joint Excellence in Science and Humanities

which is awarded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW).

The JESH grant enables early career researchers from 61 different target countries, with a maximum of 10 years of research experience following completion of their doctorate/PhD, to apply for a research period of one to six months in Austria.

The JESH stipend covers travel, accommodation and living expenses, paid at a flat rate of EUR 2,700 per month. More details can be found here.

To be able to apply for the JESH grant the confirmation of an Austrian supervisor is needed. The Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law would be very happy to support the application of a limited number of promising candidates who are doing research in International Tax Law.

We kindly ask you to inform us if you are interested in applying for a JESH grant by Sunday, April 14, 2024 (as the closing date for applications will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024).

Along with the requested documents from the OeAW (see the link here) we would need the following information:

• Publication list and CV (please include your date of birth, nationality, title of doctorate dissertation, date of completing the doctorate, as well as the University)

• Current employment / affiliation

• Outline of research project that you plan on working on at our Institute, as well as an assessment of the pre-existing contacts with our Institute and the potential long-term cooperation

• Duration of stay and TWO preferred research stay dates - these should always start on the first of the month and end on the last of the month

Please note: applications are possible for research stays that start between November 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025.
