Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing
The Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing is a certificate program offering a unique opportunity to combine two excellent courses with a high-class case study as well as a technical paper supervised by the experts of the WU Transfer Pricing Center. Previously completed courses can also be transferred to the certificate program.
The certificate targets professionals around the world who want to build or broaden their knowledge in transfer pricing and get access to new research results in that area. Participants are typically tax and transfer pricing advisors (accountants, economists, and lawyers), in-house tax and finance employees of international companies, and government officials.
Structure
The candidate will receive the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing upon successful completion of the following four modules:
Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (General Topics)*
This five-day course consists of an introduction to transfer pricing followed by lectures and workshops on the attribution of profits to permanent establishments, transfer pricing methods, administrative approaches to minimizing and resolving transfer pricing disputes, as well as transfer pricing risk management and compliance, among others.
*The course can be replaced with the Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (Benchmarking) upon request.Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (Specific Topics)
This five-day course deals with detailed lectures and intensive workshops on specific transfer pricing topics, such as transfer pricing and services, financing, intangibles, supply chain management and business restructurings, as well as indirect taxes and customs.
Lecturers of both courses are internationally renowned transfer pricing experts from academia, international organizations, the business community, government officials, and advisory firms.Case Study
A case study should be solved by the candidate. This case study will be provided and supervised by the experts of the WU Transfer Pricing Center.Technical Paper
A paper, in the form of a technical article (approx. 8,000 words), should be prepared by the candidate in English. The topic of this technical paper will be agreed by the candidate together with the experts of the WU Transfer Pricing Center, who will super vise said article.
The certificate should be completed within one year from the completion of the last course.
Fee
The fee to access the entire certificate program amounts to EUR 9,800*.
Previously completed courses can be deducted from this amount. The fee might be reduced as the result of an early bird discount related to the courses.

FAQs
1. What Courses are considered for the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing?
In-person attendance of the Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (General Topics) (module 1) and Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (Specific Topics) (module 2) is considered for the Certificate Program.
It is possible to replace the Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (General Topics) with the Advanced Transfer Pricing Course (Benchmarking). This is however subject to assessment of competence with the topics covered in the General Topics Course.
2. Can one do all three Courses?
Yes, this is possible. However, only two are required to fulfil the Course component of the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing.
3. When do the Course Modules take place?
Each of our Courses is held once a year. “General Topics” usually takes place in May, “Benchmarking” in June/July, and “Specific Topics” in September.
4. What is the registration procedure?

5. What are the timelines for completion of the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing?
The Certificate Program should be completed within one year from the completion of the last Course.
The case study (Module 3) should be completed within two months from when it is issued and the technical paper (Module 4) within six months from when the paper outline is approved.
6. Is there a specific order in which the Modules need to be completed?
We recommend starting with Module 1 then 2. However, depending on your proficiency with TP topics, you may start with Module 2 and replace Module 1 with the Benchmarking Course.
You may undertake Modules 3 and 4 in any order once the first Course is completed, however we would recommend completing them after both Modules 1 and 2 have been completed.
7. Can each Module be booked individually?
Yes, each Module can be booked separately.
Once Modules 1 and 2 are completed, one can then register for Modules 3 and 4, where one decides to undertake the full Certificate Program.
8. What happens in the event one cannot attend both Courses in the same year?
It is possible to attend the Courses in different years. There is no deadline by which both Courses must be completed, and the Course attendance does not expire.
It is, however, advisable, to complete the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing in a timely manner, to ensure that the knowledge acquired in the Courses is active to complete modules 3 & 4.
9. What is the working format for the case study and technical paper?
The case study and technical paper are typically worked on remotely with the support of our academic staff. In-person presence in Vienna is not required.
10. How often will I have to be on Vienna to complete the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing?
You will have to be in Vienna to attend Modules 1 and 2 as our Courses are held in-person only. Modules 3 and 4 (the written assignments) are done remotely.
11. How much does the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing cost?
The total fee is currently EUR 9,800 and is inclusive of the two Courses required to fulfil the Course component of the Certificate Program and the fee for the case study and technical paper.
12. Are there any discounts available?
Early bird discounts on the Course fees are available. Those discounts will reduce the total price of the Certificate. Please find more information about it in the information about our Courses.
13. If you already pay for the two Courses and later decide to enroll, are these payments considered?
Yes, these payments will be considered, and you will only be required to top up the difference upon registering for the Vienna Certificate in Transfer Pricing.
