In our guest lecture series “Praxisdialog” Dr. Gerhard Drexel, long-time chairman of the management board and current chairman of the supervisory board of Spar, presented his newly published book this week. In "Auf den Spirit kommt es an - (It all comes down to the spirit!) he outlines the management strategies that have made Spar the market leader in Austrian grocery retailing in recent years. In the subsequent Q&A session, in which Prof. Schnedlitz also participated, the current challenges in the market, such as inflation, difficult negotiations with suppliers, employer branding in retail, as well as climate protection and sustainability, were discussed.
