The global Masters in Management Ranking is issued annually by the UK-based Financial Times. Only the world’s most renowned degree programs are admitted to this ranking. The FT Masters in Management Ranking ranks master’s degree programs in management according to 19 criteria that are assessed based on data provided by the universities themselves (44%) and surveys of alumni who completed the respective programs three years ago (56%).

WU is the only Austrian university ranked

In the current 2024 ranking, WU occupies an impressive 20th place among the top 100 international universities. This puts it ahead of renowned institutions such as Imperial College London (24th place) and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (52nd place). In the German-speaking region, WU comes in at fourth place, as the only Austrian university represented in the ranking, after the University of St. Gallen (first place in the overall ranking), WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management (14th place), and ESMT Berlin (19th place). The other top spots in the overall ranking are held by HEC Paris (second place) and Insead (third place).

Strong alumni success ratings with high salaries and satisfaction levels

The ranking is based on 19 categories in three areas: alumni career progress, diversity (percentages of female and international students and personnel), and international experience and sustainability. In detail, the results show, for example, that 94% of WU alumni find a job within three months of graduating, and that they are hired for jobs that pay top-level salaries. Overall, the program’s graduates are very satisfied with the degree program and their student experience, and they say they have achieved their personal aims for their studies to a very high extent – in this regard, WU also comes in at fourth place.

WU earns top spots in global rankings with its excellent educational offerings

WU’s Master’s Program in International Management/CEMS offers students a globally recognized education that includes exchange semesters at leading universities, international internships, and provides valuable contacts to leading companies. WU Rector Rupert Sausgruber points out, “Of course, rankings are very important for an internationally oriented university such as WU. They provide orientation and guidance for prospective students and are a visible sign of high quality standards. The rankings issued by the prestigious Financial Times are particularly relevant for WU, as only the best management programs and business universities in the world are considered here. With a place among the global top 20 in this ranking, WU has every reason to be proud.”
