Registration period starts for WU bachelor’s programs
The online registration period for WU bachelor’s programs starts on March 1, and for the first time, WU is inviting applications for two bachelor’s programs: the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences, and the Bachelor’s Program in Business and Economics, WU’s new English-taught bachelor’s program slated for launch in the 2018/19 winter semester. The registration period is identical for the two programs.
120 student places will be available for the new English-taught Bachelor’s Program in Business and Economics (BBE) in the next winter semester, and 3,554 for the German-taught Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences. As a first step, prospective students interested in one of the two programs have to register online during the period from March 1 through May 15 and pay a registration fee of € 50. On May 17, applicants will be notified of whether the selection procedure for the program of their choice will be continued or not. If the number of applications received for one or both of the programs exceeds the number of available places, applicants will have to submit a letter of motivation by June 1 (in German for the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences and in English for the BBE program). In this case, applicants interested in the English-taught BBE program will also be required to upload additional documents to prove their English skills. Subsequently, it will be established whether it will be necessary to hold entrance exams on June 10. If there are fewer applicants than available places for one or both of the programs as of May 15, admission to the program in question will be possible without any further selection procedures. In any case, all applicants will receive Welcome Packages with study materials and vouchers worth the cash equivalent of the registration fee.
Entrance exams once a year, no school leaving certificate required for pre-registration
If applicable, the entrance exams for the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences and the Bachelor’s Program in Business and Economics are held only once per year. This means that all prospective students interested in starting the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences either in the 2018/19 winter semester or the 2019 summer semester have to register in the period from March 1 to May 15, 2018. This also applies to prospective students who still have to complete their compulsory military service or alternative civilian service and intend to start their bachelor’s program in the 2019 summer semester. For applicants interested in the BBE program, it will only be possible to start the program in the 2018/19 winter semester. Late applications cannot be accepted, and it will not be possible to take the exam at a later date. Online registration is required for all applicants interested in the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences and the Bachelor’s Program in Business and Economics. This also applies to secondary school students in their final year (no school leaving certificate is required for online pre-registration).
Information on the topics covered in the exam will be provided on the WU website. The exact times of the exams will also be announced in due time. If applicable, the two exams will be held at different times.
