Returning Items

Central Library

To return items to the Central Library, library patrons are asked to use the self-service book return machine located to the right of the Central Library entrance. This machine can be used whenever the building is open, independent of library opening hours.

Reserving/Ordering Books

  • Books which are checked out to other persons can be reserved online.

  • Books which are located in the closed stackes have to be ordered online.

  • Books which are available on the shelf, cannot be reserved.

1. Use the WU Catalog to find the relevant item and click on the link Locations.

2. Click on the link sign in and log on with you library ID.

3. Click hold/request and confirm your request.

4. Log out of your library account.

Picking Up Books on Hold

Central Library

Books requested from the closed stacks and books on hold ready for pick-up can be collected from the self-service holding shelves. The items on these shelves are ordered alphabetically by the names of the patrons who requested them. Patrons can simply retrieve the books from the holding shelves and check them out at one of the self-service machines.

Payment of Fees and Fines

All fees and fines are paid by cashless payment at one of the two payment machines in the LC building located close to the Central Library entrance (during LC building opening hours) and the payment machine in the Library for Law (during the opening hours of the Library for Law).
