CFA Society Austria Prize 2024/25

On 28 February 2025, the CFA Society Austria, the association of Austrian investment analysts, awarded the "CFA Society Austria Prize" for the 17th time. The prize was awarded to bachelor's, master's or diploma theses and dissertations on the topic of "Investments, Banking and Finance".

    Supervision by Univ.Prof. Dr. Otto Randl

The CFA Research Challenge is an international competition between teams of students who research a publicly traded company, prepare a written report, and present their findings to a panel of judges. At this year's CFA Research Challenge Austria, the students had the task of compiling a comprehensive equity research report for the Austrian company Palfinger AG and holding a final presentation of their findings.

In 2025, the team from the Vienna University of Economics and Business - students of the master's degree program "Finance and Accounting" Tobias Schmid, Florian Hirscher, Laurenz Maierhofer, Julius Panreck and Mattheus Sinko - led by Prof. Manfred Frühwirth (Institute for Finance, Banking and Insurance) and supervised by Harald Wimmer, CFA, won the competition at the local level and will represent the CFA Society Austria at the finals at the sub-regional level.
