Each year, the renowned award recognizes a dissertation from a German-speaking country that is both close to business practice and makes an important contribution to research in managerial accounting and control. The award ceremony took place at the “Stuttgarter Controlling and Management-Forum” on October 11and was hosted by Prof. Péter Horváth.

In his dissertation, Markus Wabnegg examines the role of management accounting and control in the context of innovation. More specifically, he studies how organizational incentive systems may affect R&D-​employees’ behavior and how this, in turn, may drive a firm’s innovation performance.
