IfSTO: New Courses from Winter Term 24/25

We are pleased to announce our new teaching portfolio at IfSTO, starting in the winter term 24/25. These courses will be integral to the BaWISO and BBE bachelor programs, as well as the SIMC master's program.

Standards wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens und Zitierens
This course provides students with the essential tools for successfully completing their Bachelor's thesis. Topics include formal requirements, citation styles, research question development, data collection, and thesis proposal preparation.

Understanding Business/Business Planning
This course offers a comprehensive overview of business planning, covering the key stages from opportunity recognition to strategic and operational execution. Students will engage with both theoretical frameworks and practical case studies.

Strategie und Innovation
Focused on the connection between strategy and innovation, this course covers strategic analysis, innovation culture, and business models. It emphasizes the integration of strategic thinking with innovative practices.

Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management
In this course, students will explore the core processes of managing innovation within both established firms and start-ups. Key topics include opportunity recognition, strategizing, and organizing for innovation, with attention to current trends such as open innovation.

Social Network Analysis: Creating Innovations through Networks
This course examines the crucial role of networking—both formal and informal—for enhancing a company’s innovation performance. Special attention is given to how top managers’ characteristics and their embeddedness in networks can influence innovation outcomes. Understanding how to structure these networks is essential for current and future managers in fostering innovation within their organizations.
