Christine Bachner is a pre-doctoral teaching and research associate at the Institute for Family Business at WU Vienna. Her research focuses on innovation and IP management in family businesses. In this context, she has been involved in a study for the European Commission on the protection of trade secrets in the data economy and on the importance of IP for the financing of Swiss SMEs and start-ups.

Christine Bachner has published in academic journals such as the Journal of Family Business Management and in edited volumes on innovation and sustainability. She is a member of the Austrian Association for Sociology and serves as a reviewer for various conferences. Her academic contributions have been recognized with the Emerald Literati Award for Excellence (Highly Commended Paper) and the IMC Krems Innovation in Teaching Award for sustainability in teaching.

Christine Bachner is also actively involved in the Institute's research projects.
