Four of WU’s English-taught master’s programs performed very well in the just-published QS Business Masters Rankings 2022.

The annual World University Rankings issued by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) are among the best-known higher education rankings worldwide, alongside the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking. In addition to the university rankings by subject, QS also publishes the QS Business Masters Rankings. WU again performed very well, with four of its English-taught master’s programs represented in the master’s rankings: In the “Masters in Finance” ranking, WU’s Master’s Program in Quantitative Finance climbed to 16th place out of a total of 179 programs ranked (up from 18th place last year). In the “Masters in Management” ranking, the WU Master’s Program in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control came in 11th out of 155 programs ranked (last year: 10th place). In the “Masters in Marketing” ranking, WU’s Master’s Program in Marketing again achieved an excellent 10th place out of a total of 105 programs (last year: 10th place). WU’s Master’s Program in Supply Chain Management was included in the ranking for the first time last year, debuting at 3rd place, and climbed to the impressive 2nd place out of 62 ranked programs in this year’s ranking.

“The QS rankings are highly regarded and well known all over the world. These types of program rankings are also especially relevant for students, because they help them select the best programs on the market. In any case, the excellent results of WU’s master’s programs in the latest ranking show that WU is a strong performer at the international level and offers excellent academic quality in its degree programs,” says WU Rector Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger.

QS Business Masters Rankings: successful alumni

The QS Business Masters Rankings are compiled based on 13 individual indicators in five key metrics, and the data is based on surveys among academics and employers, data provided by the universities, and publication databases. All WU programs included in the rankings received excellent scores in two categories: “Employability,” which is based on a survey of 38,000 employers worldwide and graduates’ employment rates, and “Thought Leadership,” which mainly includes research output and reputation indicators. The programs also did very well in the “Alumni Outcomes” category, which measures the success of program alumni.
