Throughout her professional career Annette Mann has held a broad range of strategic, conceptual, and operative roles within the Lufthansa group. During the WU Leadership Conversations, Annette Mann highlighted the importance of gaining a broad understanding of an organization by taking on different operational and strategic roles as well as international assignments. We discussed how to leverage diversity in organizations, how to develop future leaders in large organizations, and how to attract and retain employees in novel forms of organizing, characterized by flatter hierarchies and hybrid ways of working. Annette Mann encouraged WU's students to "be brave right from the start" of their careers by seeking challenging assignments and identifying opportunities for co-creation in organizations.
