Featured in FALTER Magazine: Our Institute Delivers Core Business and Digital Economy Course to Record Student Numbers

The Institute of Data, Process and Knowledge Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) plays a central role in delivering one of WU's most impactful courses: „Betriebswirtschaft und Digitale Ökonomie“.

Recently prominently featured in the FALTER news magazine (https://www.falter.at/zeitung/20241015/wiso-inskribiert-man-das-besuch-in-oesterreichs-groesstem-studiengang), this course serves almost 4,000 first-year bachelor students every year in their introductory and orientation phase their of studies (Studieneingangs- und Orientierungsphase) and exemplifies our institute's commitment to innovative business education.

This interdisciplinary lecture, co-taught with distinguished colleagues from the Department of Strategy and Innovation and delivered in a blended learning format, combines traditional business fundamentals with insights from the digital economy. The latest semester launched successfully at the Austria Center Vienna, welcoming more than 1,000 new students to their academic journey at WU.

The Institute of Data, Process and Knowledge Management ensures that students receive exposure to both traditional business principles and contemporary digital concepts. This innovative approach serves as a gateway to more specialized offerings in Business Informatics and Information Systems, encouraging students to explore these increasingly vital fields of study within the Department of Information Systems and Operations (ISOM).
