In par­ti­cu­lar, it ex­plo­res how “cues to de­cep­ti­on” (that is, words which have been found to point to­wards de­cep­ti­on ta­king place) ope­ra­te in their lin­gu­is­tic con­text. It also takes a me­tho­do­lo­gi­cal angle, ar­guing for new ways to ana­ly­se de­cep­ti­ve data in a context-​sensitive man­ner.

The book is aimed at re­se­ar­chers and post­gra­dua­tes in the fields of cor­pus lin­gu­is­tics, psy­cho­lo­gy, dis­cour­se ana­ly­sis, and fo­ren­sic lin­gu­is­tics.
