Travel Information

Vienna is an international city and can be reached by international flights and railway. In Vienna there is a good and secure public transportation system. Please acknowledge, you must buy your ticket before entering. There are ticket machines at tube and train stations and you can buy it online. Several day tickets are available. https://www.wienerlinien.at/web/wl-en

There are several options from the Vienna airport to the conference venue WU and your booked hotel:

Public transport:

At the Airport Vienna go to the railway station and use the S7 line to Vienna. The train leaves every 30 minutes and the travel time will be 25 minutes to the station “Praterstern”. Leave the train at this station and change to the underground line U2 to the direction “Seestadt”. Use the U2 for only one stop to the next station “Messe” and leave the underground. From the station “Messe“ you can walk in a few minutes to the two conference hotels Spark by Hilton or Motel One Prater.

An alternative is to use the City Airport Train (CAT) from the Vienna Airport to the end station “Wien Mitte”. You need a separate ticket. There you have to change to the public S-train station. Take a train to the direction “Floridsdorf” and leave after one station at “Praterstern”. There you change to the underground U2 into the direction “Seestadt” and leave at the next stop “Messe”. From there you can walk to the conference hotels or the WU. Please acknowledge, that you have to buy a different ticket for the CAT (private train) and the S-Line and tube (public transport).

Taxi:

At the Vienna Airport there is a central taxi stand. To safe money you can book a taxi in ahead. For a taxi service from the Airport to your hotel or the WU here are two possibilities: https://www.taxi40100.at/en/airport/ or https://wien-airportdriver.at/en


Main Railway station Vienna

If you reach Vienna by train you will get to the main railway station (Wien Hauptbahnhof). From there please change to the S-line (Schnellbahn) to the direction “Floridsdorf”. Leave the train at the station “Praterstern”, change to the U2 into the direction “Seestadt” and leave the tube at the next station “Messe”. From there you can walk to the conference hotels and the WU.
 

Public transport in Vienna

On weekdays (Monday to Thursday) there is no public transportation service between 1am in the morning and 5am in the morning. During this night time you have to take a cab. On weekend days there will be a service during the whole night.
