About

Astrid Pennerstorfer is an associate professor at the Institute for Social Policy. Her research focuses on the analysis of social service markets, non-profit organizations as providers of social services and their relationship to the public sector.

She holds a doctorate in social and economic sciences with a focus on economics, as well as master's degrees in business administration and sociology. Before joining WU, she was head of the Master's program "Social Economy and Social Work" at the FH Campus Wien.

She is Editor-in-Charge of the Austrian Journal of Sociology and a member of the editorial board of the journal Voluntas.
