EWG Retail Operations 2024

Welcome to Vienna!

Dear conference participants,

we are pleased to invite you to WU Vienna University of Economics and Business for the 7th annual meeting of the EURO Working Group on Retail Operations from September 18th to 20th, 2024.

The EURO Working Group on Retail Operations was founded in 2015 with previous meetings in Beilngries (Germany), Porto (Portugal), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Mallorca (Spain), Istanbul (Turkey) and Stockholm (Sweden). The purpose of this EURO Working Group is to advance the development and application of methods, techniques and tools in the field of Retail Operations. We like to offer the international retail community opportunities to present state-of-the-art developments and to discuss current challenges in retailing operations and related fields.

We are delighted to host this year's meeting here in one of the world's most livable cities in the heart of Europe and look forward to spending two days together full of academic discussions and presentations.

On behalf of the organizing committee,

Additional Information

Venue

The conference will take place at the campus of:

WU Vienna University of Economics and Business

Welthandelsplatz 1

How to get there and around in Vienna?

Public transport in Vienna is great (it runs from early morning until after midnight on weekdays) and is the best way to get around the city.

The conference location can be easily reached by subway (U2 - purple line, exits “Messe-Prater” and “Krieau”) as well as several bus and tram lines. You can plan a trip here: https://www.wienerlinien.at/web/wl-en .

Where to stay in Vienna?

There are several hotels right next to WU (e.g., Bassena, MotelOne or Superbude).

However, these could be expensive options in Vienna at this time of year. If you prefer to stay somewhere else, we recommend to start your search along the metro U2 (purple line) as it runs from the city center (probably ideal if you plan to stay longer in Vienna to see the city) to some more rural areas in Vienna (probably ideal if you are on a budget)
