Prof. Caren Sureth-Sloane holds the chair in Business Administration, especially Business Taxation, and since 2015, has been Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the University of Paderborn. Furthermore, she is a professorial member of the Board of the Accounting Research Committee of the German Economic Association, American Accounting Association, European Accounting Association, and is a member and president of German Academic Association for Business Research (thereof president 2011 and 2012, vice-president 2009 and 2010). Caren Sureth-Sloane is also a member of the editorial board of many leading journals in Business Administration and Economics, such as Business Research,European Accounting Review and Review of Managerial Science. Since 2013, she has been an ordinary member of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts. She is a founding member of Arqus, a working group in quantitative business taxation, as well as a member of the working groups "Taxes" and "Transfer Prices" of the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft, whose board she has been part of since 2011. Currently, her research interests are business taxation and finance, international taxation, investment decisions and taxes and tax accounting. She deals with the topic of international taxation and examines European group taxation and asymmetric taxation in multinational groups. Moreover, she analyses the impact of taxation on investment decisions under uncertainty and on cross-border investment. Within the Doctoral Program, Caren Sureth-Sloane, will encourage and support young researchers in contributing to the research in the Determination of Taxable Profit and International Coordination of Business Taxation. By her involvement in these research areas, the doctoral students will benefit best from her outstanding expertise and know-how in tax accounting, impact of taxation on investment decisions and international business taxation.
