FSP event with Joanna T. Campbell

We were delighted to welcome Prof. Joanna T. Campbell as a guest speaker in our Female Scholar program.

Joanna T. Campbell is a Professor of Management at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati and a Research Affiliate at the University of Notre Dame. She currently serves as the Head of the Department of Management. She holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Texas A&M University.

Joanna grew up in Europe and is a dual citizen of Poland and the United States. Her research focuses on top executive characteristics and background and their effects on organizational outcomes, corporate governance, and configurational theory and methods. Joanna has held multiple leadership roles in the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. She currently sits on the board of directors of International Corporate Governance Society (ICGS) and serves on the Executive Committee of the Strategic Management division of the Academy of Management.

Her work has been published in several outlets, including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organizational Research Methods, and Strategic Management Journal. She has served or currently serves on the editorial review boards of Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, and Strategic Management Journal, and has recently completed her term as an Associate Editor of Academy of Management Review.

Prod. Campbell’s talk, titled “Crafting a Meaningful Academic Career“, focused on dual career concerns, career and life stage transitions, finding your crowd and building your network(s) and how to make your own opportunities.
