Among 136 initiatives, the Changemaker program was selected by an expert jury as one of the top 8 educational projects and is nominated for the television final, the MEGA education show. From the finalists, the top 3 initiatives will be selected by an online audience voting from June 25 to July 4 and a television jury, each for 200,000€ growth funding. On July 9, starting at 8:15 pm on ORFIII, the 8 projects will present their ideas live in "8 Ideas for a Million - The MEGA Education Show".

The Changemaker initiative is concerned with teaching children about entrepreneurship and business in a playful way. It was originally launched as an extra-curricular teaching program at WU, where students support elementary school children with their projects: from developing an idea to selling it at the end. Children gain first experience in collaborating in a team and project management.

The highlight of the program is the "Market Day", the grand finale where the children show what they have learned and put their products and services up for sale on their own market stalls.

In total, the program has reached about 30 elementary school classes, over 650 children and 90 WU students in its first two years. The Changemaker team would now like to use the MEGA Bildungsmillion to expand across Austria.
