Since 2017, the Markttag has inspired more than 2,500 children and more than 400 students who implement the program with the children. The basic idea is simple: the WU Gründungszentrum (together with strong partners such as IFTE, KPH Wien/Krems, PH Wien and Bildungsdirektion Wien) trains students in entrepreneurship and didactics; these changemakers then go to the elementary school and work with the children on their first own entrepreneurship concept - from the idea to the sale.

The highlight is the Markttag at the Vienna University of Economics and Business - here the self-made works are sold at the own stand. The day is accompanied by a campus tour and children's lecture held by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke.

The next Markttag will take place on June 21, 2023 from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

With the award as a Top 6 Project by the MEGA Education Foundation, the Changemaker Markttag can grow further and be rolled out to other universities in Austria. Already in 2021, the program received an award from the MEGA Bildungsstiftung and was able to bring the program to the FH Oberösterreich in Steyr, to the FH Vorarlberg in Dornbirn and to the Karl Franzens University in Graz.
