Teaching

The needs and expectations of students in various degree programs are in constant flux. WU also considers factors such as social inclusion and the diversity of the student body. So increasing the flexibility of degree programs to enable students to reconcile personal caretaking responsibilities and jobs with their academic studies is a central part of WU’s digitalization vison. Additionally, universities are currently confronted with increasing competition on a national and international level and from brick-and-mortar and virtual universities (and non-university course providers).

These general conditions necessitate new learning and teaching methods, including online components and blended learning elements, and also indicate the need to create additional educational opportunities for faculty and teaching staff to give them the skills to digitalize their courses. Investment in the university infrastructure is essential for facilitating digitalization and learning at a digital level.

The following focal areas have been identified as para- mount in the coming years:

The digital economy

Seamless learning

The online learning environment of the future

Infrastructure for teaching and degree programs
