FAQs

Q: I have been nominated to study abroad by the WU International Office and am required to complete the course “Cross-Cultural Competence”. However, the course I wanted to sign up for, which is covering my host region, is full. What can I do?
A: Please immediately sign up for the waiting list and contact the course instructor. You can find the e-mail-address in the course catalog. Please note that waiting list registration applies to this course. This means you first sign up for the waiting list within the specified registration period. After that, you will be formally assigned a place in the course if you are a student nominated to study abroad at a WU partner university. Please note that for technical reasons, the course places are initially set to "0" during the registration period - this is not an indicator of the available capacity in the respective course at that time.
Q: The CCC course that covers my host region does not fit my schedule. Can I sign up for a course that covers a different region?
A: If it is not possible for you to attend the course covering your host region, you can alternatively sign up for a course that has no pre-specified regional focus. A different region is only possible if there are spare places available. In such a case, you should contact the course instructor in advance. You can find the e-mail-address in the course syllabus.

Q: I have been nominated to study abroad and have completed the respective CCC course. However, I could not go on exchange. Now I am nominated for a university in a different country/region. Do I have to attend the CCC course again?
A: In such a case, you do not have to attend the CCC course once again, even if the one you completed before covered a different country/region.
