Antisemitism – the hatred, fear, and prejudice of and against Jews, is a worldwide societal phenomenon and growing at an alarming pace. Antisemitism does not stop at the factory gates or at the office threshold. Yet, we know little about its manifestations in the workplace, if and how it interacts with work processes including organizational performance, its impact on people’s careers trajectories, professional identity, self-image, and overall well-being.

With the exponential rise in antisemitism over the past decade and its intensification since October 7th 2023, exploring antisemitism in a work and organization context has become both timely and urgent for the protagonists involved, for managing people management professionals, and more generally, to our understanding of work dynamics and the life-work interface.

An enduring, multi-faceted phenomenon as is antisemitism calls for a multidisciplinary approach. We would consider contributions from any field of the social sciences and the humanities. We are particularly interested in micro (individual, group) and meso (organization, community) level contributions, but macro (societal) level contributions are welcome, too.

The working papers series is an open access platform, providing a forum for early-stage scholarly publications, aiming to inform academe, practice and policy making. Publishing in the working papers series will not preclude future publications in learned journals or books, however, already published material in copyrighted journals or books will not be accepted. Conference papers can be submitted, if they do not contravene the conference copyrights, should such exist.

In case a journal publisher or editor requires the paper to be taken offline during the process of peer review, we are happy to accommodate such requests.

Submission Guidelines

A manuscript of between 2,000 words and 10,000 words would be considered,

Authors need to submit their manuscripts (in Word format) with the title page including contact details of all authors and a list of five keywords, accompanied by an abstract of 150 words. The manuscript itself should be double spaced. Tables, figures could be single space.

Manuscripts will be reviewed by one of the editors and an additional reviewer. Decisions, i.e., acceptance, rejection, or rewrite & resubmit, will be communicated within seven weeks of submission.

Disclosure instructions: the use of generative AI.

The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the data analysis and writing process must be disclosed by adding a statement at the end of the manuscript before the References List. The statement should be placed in a new section entitled ‘Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process’.

Statement: The author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] in order to [REASON]. The author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication.

This declaration does not apply to the use of basic tools for checking grammar, spelling, references etc. If there is nothing to disclose, there is no need to add a statement. Nor does it refer to AI tools used to analyze and draw insights from data as part of the research process.
