Lauren Landsmann has been a Senior Lecturer at the Institute for English Business Communication since 2004. Having grown up in the United States, she participated in a two-year exchange program at University of Salzburg as part of her undergraduate studies at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in German from her home institution, she continued her education and earned a Master of Science in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Foreign Language Education. Her professional experience includes teaching ESL in American public schools, in-company training, lecturing at numerous Austrian Fachhochschulen and holding courses as part of the WU’s continuing education program. In addition to teaching English Business Communication in the undergraduate programmes at the WU, she is involved in the current EBC curriculum development process and producing teaching and testing materials. Her areas of interest include second language acquisition, language learning strategies and didactics in higher education.
