Information on Master Theses

For those, who are interested in writing a master thesis under my supervision, some general bits of information: So far, I have supervised more than 200 academic theses successfully, mainly in the fields of strategy, management control, marketing and adjacent disciplines. I am not interested in operations research and logistics, however, and I do not supervise bachelor theses.

I support qualitative methods (such as cases, content analysis, interviews) as well as quantitative methods (such as meta-analyses, surveys). In exceptional cases, e.g. in case of white space novelty, I also accept (thoroughly done) integrative literature reviews. Please be prepared that a high standard of methods competence is expected, there is no “easy route”.

It is not unusual that thesis projects lead to publications. If that is the case, following good scientific practice, the authors of the thesis will of course also be co-authors of the subsequent academic paper. There are quite some best practice cases, already.

Generally speaking, diligence, enthusiasm and willingness to succeed are of the essence. Of course, a thesis project should be fun, too. Please only choose topics that you really like ;-)
