On Wednesday 28th May 2014 the WU Global Tax Policy Center at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law hosted the seventh in the new series of tax policy discussions between Prof. Jeffrey Owens and leading players in the field of tax policy. The "Tax Policy Fire Side Chats" focus on issues which are currently preoccupying governments, business and civil society and enable a wide audience to participate in these policy debates.

Rick Mcdonell (Executive Secretary of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)) was our guest speaker with Jeffrey. The debate focussed on the origins and current mandate of the FATF, the significance of the FATF work for the tax community, the forms that cooperation between tax administrations and FIU currently take, the risks of confidentially and how can Less Developed Countries benefit from all of this work, as well as other topics.
