Işın is a Ph.D. candidate and a research associate at the Institute for Interactive Marketing & Social Media (IMSM), Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU).

She studied economics at Middle East Technical University, Turkey, and the University of Mannheim, Germany. During her master's, she worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Mannheim and as a research assistant at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), where she also wrote her master thesis on the effects of parental leave benefits on financial worries.

In February 2022, she began her Ph.D. studies at WU, where her research is in the field of ad effectiveness and display advertising.
