EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In a rapidly changing world where we live over the capacities in regards to resources, we, as human kind, have to give something back, something good for the planet, something sustainable. Therefore, we offer an easy solution to calculate and neutralize your carbon footprint for those who want to contribute to a good cause. Of course, we work completely transparent and publish all of our financial numbers and on top of that, we show you which new sustainable products are in fashion.

Goal

We want to achieve CO2 neutrality through a transparent all-in-one solution that simply calculates your CO2e footprint and then proposes suitable projects directly for you. These projects bind CO2 or prevent its emission. You finance these projects with an amount and offset your consumption in return. The environmentally conscious community interacts with each other and promotes sustainability.

Methodology

We approached the issue with the “lean startup method”. The main focus point was to go from an idea to a full business plan within at least five iterations. In each iteration we conducted interviews and got one step closer to our goal. We found out, that the biggest problem in the realm of carbon offsetting is the distrust in NGOs and companies. Therefore, trustability is our main focus point and the biggest asset in our startup.

Results

As a result, we came up with Green Project. People have the possibility to support different projects all around the world or packages of projects of the same kind (e.g. reforestation). Those projects either help to bind CO2 or reduce it. In advance they can calculate their carbon footprint. The percentage and the frequency (monthly, yearly) of the offsetting can be chosen too. In the beginning we will have partners which are the owners of the projects, but we are also planning to execute our own projects where people can support us directly. On our website, everyone can see our expenses and revenue. Furthermore, the costs for every project are listed and the amount of fee we take. This helps to create credibility and trustworthiness for our customers. Another feature and stream of income is our blog where similar minded people can interact with each other, milestones of the projects are displayed and companies can advertise their sustainable products.
